What Am I Contemplating

Song - Contemplating

Wish I could say what I mean say
I don't have the words articulating
I could pretend something's wrong with me
Then I might get a little sympathy
A thought may come but then I hesitate
Call it a choice, or am I just waiting
There's a version of me, inside my head
Never a doubt, just speaking plainly

I don't expect you care about me
I'll still give out, oh so willingly

What is it that I'm contemplating?
I hear my words reverberating
I guess that I'm only speculating
Did I live my life or did I fake it?

My face may age, but I still recognise
Same old me staring through my eyes
Where the roads I took, the ones I chose
Or did I just follow, follow my nose
If you took away all my alibis
Would there be a voice I'd even recognise
I'll drag my toes and I'll tow the line
Afraid of what I might come to decide
